Vinegar

Another day goes by and I find another use for my ever so reliable pantry staple. My obsession started a few years ago when I still had the resources to hire green cleaners once a month to clean my one bedroom apartment. Upon entering, I'd get a strong whiff of the unpleasant smell and wonder why they would introduce such a treacherous step in the process. When we started looking for something ecofriendly we could clean with, I remembered about that. Instead of succumbing to the more expensive greenwashing products out there, I found something that was inexpensively effective. We've since used it to clean the counters in the kitchen, the bathtub and unclogging drains. Yesterday, we used it as a fabric softener.Next on the list is killing weeds and cleaning the toilet. Find more uses for this wonderful, cheap and natural substance here.

Welcome

I finally zeroed in on a topic for my new blog. Our family of five's quest to save the world. It may seem like a daunting task but we're ready so bring it!

*Actually, the real goal is to at least make our lifestyle as eco friendly as possible and to spread the word about how we did it so we can inspire others.

Seems easy enough right? Not quite. We live in the suburbs
and we're renting. And to add to that, we're raising three boys and recession affected. Not only do we have to make decisions based on ecofriendliness, it also has to be kidfriendly and costfriendly. So we'll experiment our hearts out and share the outcome with you.
